KWZ Spots for Water Play

By Samantha Faggiana, Publisher June 3, 2021

I know we are all searching for fun and safe things for our kids this summer.  Since the heat has officially set in, here’s a list of local pools and park spots where the kids can swim, splash, and cool off!

  • YMCA at Knightdale Station has a large pool with a pretty awesome slide.  Check their website for additional information.
  • Little River Park is one of the oldest parks in Zebulon. Known for its natural flowing river, Little River Park is for all nature lovers who enjoy fishing, playing in the white sandy beaches or meditating to the gentle sounds of water rolling through.
  • Wendell Swim Club is currently accepting new members.  They are a member owned swim facility.  Restrictions and precautions apply due to COVID.  I suggest reaching out to them for additional information about membership.
  • Knightdale Community Pool is open!  Check their website for additional information and COVID guidelines.
  • The Splash Pad at Knightdale Station Park is OPEN!!
  • Rocky Falls Park at Wendell Falls.  Cute little trail and a small creek for kids to splash in.
  • Mill Bridge Nature Park is the perfect spot for a shady walk and then splashing in the natural creek to cool off.  The creek floor is mostly sand and the water is literally the perfect temperature.  My kids really enjoy this spot and it’s not too far, especially if you live in Zebulon.  I suggest water shoes and a change of clothes.
  • There are TONS of aquatic centers in and Raleigh.  Check their website here for a full list of facilities, hours, and fees, if any.
